Palu (ANTARA) – The Palu City Tim Penggerak Pemberdayaan dan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (TP-PKK) strengthens family nutrition education through the DASHAT programme (Dapur Sehat Atasi Stunting) in an effort to accelerate the reduction of stunting rates.

“DASHAT is one of the important efforts for us to improve the quality of family health,” said Diah Puspita, chair of TP-PKK Palu City, in Palu, Central Sulawesi, on Friday.

She explained that the DASHAT programme is one of the strategic steps that can help the public understand healthy eating patterns, especially for target groups such as pregnant women, nursing mothers, babies and young children.

Through activities facilitating the management of DASHAT, the Palu City Government continues to raise public awareness of healthy eating and the meeting of family nutrition as part of accelerated stunting management.

According to Diah, the innovative programme is the Palu City Government’s commitment to addressing stunting because the issue of stunting is not only about health, but also relates to community habits in meeting family nutrition needs.

She noted that the public needs to understand that fulfilling family nutrition needs does not always require large costs, but rather the ability to manage available foods with balanced nutritional content.

“The most important thing is to understand that nutritious food does not have to be expensive,” she said.

She explained that a healthy diet can be implemented through the concept of balanced nutrition with proper plate portioning, consisting of fruits, vegetables, sources of carbohydrates, and protein in proportional portions.

In addition to providing education about healthy consumption patterns, she also reminded the public to take advantage of various government assistance programmes provided to support the health of mothers and children, including the importance of exclusive breastfeeding as the foundation of a child’s health from early age.

“The principle of balanced nutrition from the plate is proportional composition,” she explained.

She added that various government intervention programmes aim to create a generation that is healthy, intelligent and of high quality to realise Indonesia Emas in the future.

She hopes that the existence of the healthy kitchen can be a tangible step in strengthening family nutrition resilience while supporting the government’s efforts to realise a generation of Palu City that is healthy and intelligent.
