JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The export performance of PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) throughout 2025 has achieved the highest record in the last five years.

Based on data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), Toyota’s complete built-up (CBU) car exports reached 298,457 units during the January-December 2025 period. This figure increased by 8 percent compared to the previous year’s realisation of 276,089 units.

This achievement also brings it close to the 300,000 unit level. In the last five years, Toyota Indonesia has also contributed approximately 60 percent to the total national CBU exports.

If viewed over a longer period, since starting exports in 1987 until the end of 2025, Toyota Indonesia has sent 3,151,794 vehicle units to more than 100 countries in Asia, South America, Africa, the Middle East, Australia, and Oceania.

President Director of PT TMMIN, Nandi Julyanto, said that this achievement was the result of collaboration between various parties and the strength of the national automotive industrial ecosystem.

“We were able to achieve this achievement thanks to the support of the Indonesian Government, the community, stakeholders, and the role of a strong national automotive industrial supply chain from upstream to downstream,” he said in an official statement, Thursday (February 26, 2026).

“We believe that the increase in automotive product exports throughout 2025, from ICE vehicles and electrification, can strengthen the foundation of the Indonesian automotive industry and increase its contribution to the national trade balance,” continued Nandi.

Meanwhile, the Agya from the hatchback segment recorded exports of 33,675 units. The Town Ace and Lite Ace light commercial vehicles contributed 20,457 units.

Positive performance was also seen in electric vehicles. Throughout 2025, hybrid model exports reached 22,868 units, an increase of 23 percent compared to the previous year of 18,553 units.

In detail, the Kijang Innova Zenix Hybrid contributed 13,343 units and the Yaris Cross Hybrid 9,525 units.

Vice President Director of PT TMMIN, Bob Azam, added that this achievement was the result of a long process in building the national automotive industry, starting from the import stage in the 1970s to being able to produce vehicles locally.
