Jakarta – As the new year 2026 begins, Toyota Indonesia has exported 298,457 vehicles throughout January to December 2025, nearly reaching the 300,000-unit milestone. According to data from GAIKINDO, this export performance represents an 8 per cent increase compared to the previous year’s 276,089 units. Since 2020 through 2025, Toyota Indonesia has consistently contributed approximately 60 per cent of Indonesia’s total CBU exports. This export growth aligns with the positive trajectory of the national automotive industry, which recorded total vehicle exports of 518,212 units in 2025 over the past five years. Cumulatively, from 1987 through the end of 2025, Toyota Indonesia has exported 3,151,794 vehicles to more than 100 countries across Asia, South America, Africa, the Middle East, Australia, and Oceania.

Nandi Julyanto, President Director of PT TMMIN, stated: “We have achieved this near-300,000-unit export milestone thanks to the support of the Indonesian government, our communities, stakeholders, and the strength of our integrated automotive supply chain. We believe the increased exports of automotive products throughout 2025, encompassing both internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and electrified models, will strengthen Indonesia’s automotive industry foundation and enhance our national trade balance. The automotive sector remains a cornerstone of economic growth.”

The flagship export models from Toyota Indonesia include the Kijang Innova Zenix (both ICE and Hybrid Electrified Vehicle variants), Veloz, Fortuner, and Yaris Cross (available in ICE and HEV options). Global consumer enthusiasm for Indonesia-manufactured electrified vehicles reached 22,868 units in 2025, representing a 23 per cent increase compared to 18,553 units during the same period in 2024. This export performance complements the broader achievements of Indonesia’s automotive sector.

Bob Azam, Deputy President Director of PT TMMIN, remarked: “This achievement did not come overnight but required sustained effort and dedication. The journey of building Indonesia’s automotive industry began with import activities in the 1970s, progressing to large-scale production of engines, components, production equipment, and complete vehicles. With local content now reaching 80 per cent, we continue to support Indonesia’s automotive industry strengthening through the production and export of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and electrified models such as the Kijang Innova Zenix HEV and Yaris Cross HEV.”
