Township people offer land

KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara: Residents of Sulamu township about
70 km east of here have given their wholehearted support to the
administration's plan to relocate the regency office from here.

In a petition presented to Governor Herman Musakabe,
representatives of the Sulamu residents pledged to give up 10,000
hectares of their land for the site of the regency administration
office.

The provincial administration is considering relocating the
regency administration out of Kupang because the city is now
being considered for administrative town status by Jakarta.

Kupang is also the seat of East Nusa Tenggara province. (yac)
