Entering the start of 2026, the Province of Bali continues to strengthen the foundations of its tourism and economic sectors through strategic measures on the ground. These efforts began with reinforcing security at tourist destinations.

A specialised Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) dedicated to tourism now operates with a more humanistic approach. Officers wear casual, friendly uniforms and work alongside trained local dogs to conduct routine patrols, as well as to provide communication, information, and education (KIE) to tourists.

The head of Bali’s Civil Service Police explained that the unit has proven effective in reducing violations at tourist attractions, whilst also educating visitors to respect local culture. The unit also controls illegal vendors to ensure visitor comfort across nearly 500 tourist sites throughout the province.

Security conditions on the ground align with positive economic trends in Bali. Bank Indonesia data from January 2026 indicates that business activity optimism in Bali continues to rise. Several major national religious celebrations — including Imlek (Chinese New Year), Nyepi (Balinese Day of Silence), Ramadan, and Eid al-Fitr — have the potential to serve as additional catalysts for Bali’s economic growth in early 2026.

The synergy between improved security at tourism destinations and strengthening economic indicators reflects a coordinated effort by provincial authorities to ensure Bali remains an attractive and safe destination for both domestic and international visitors as the island heads into a period of major celebrations.
