Jakarta — The Tourism Ministry (Kemenpar) is engaged in intensive communication and coordination with tourism sector associations to ensure readiness for the anticipated surge in visitors during the Lebaran holiday break.

“With a focus on strengthening crowd management controls and regulating capacity in accordance with destination carrying capacity, particularly in areas that could face overcapacity,” said Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana to ANTARA in Jakarta on Monday.

Widiyanti stated that the Tourism Ministry, through its Deputy Assistant for Domestic Tourism Marketing, has coordinated with tourism associations and online travel agencies (OTAs) including Traveloka, Tiket.com, Mister Aladin, Atourin, and Djalanin.

The tourism associations involved in the coordination include the Indonesian Association of Travel Agencies (ASITA), the Indonesian Association of Airline Ticket Sellers (ASTINDO), the Indonesian Association of Tourism Actors (ASPPI), the Alliance of the Indonesian Tour & Travel Agency (AITTA), and the Indonesian Tourism Industry Association (GIPI).

Additional associations include the Back to Travel Indonesia Association (KEMBERIN), the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI), and the Indonesian Recreation Park Operators Association (PUTRI).

Promotional activities include business matching events and the Bangga Berwisata di Indonesia (BBWI) exhibition to encourage domestic tourist movement during the 2026 Lebaran holiday, including the Jogja Business Matching and BBWI Travel Fair “Meraya Bersama”, the Bangga Berwisata di Indonesia tourism exhibition, and the Shop in Indonesia Only (BINA) Lebaran 2026 programme.

The BINA Lebaran 2026 initiative collaborates with the Indonesian Shopping Centre Tenants Association (Hippindo) and the Ministry of Creative Economy.

Through the Marketing Deputy, tourism industry associations and OTAs have been urged to reduce ticket prices by 17 to 18 per cent in accordance with policies issued by the Finance Ministry and the Transport Ministry.
