Top financial executives to meet here

JAKARTA (JP): The International Association of Financial Executives Institute will hold its 27th world congress at the Jakarta Convention Center and in Bali beginning on Oct. 30.

The three-day Regional economies-Asia Pacific Region, Towards the end of the century congress will present several ministers, financial leaders and analysts as speakers, including Japan's management strategist Kenichi Ohmae.

The congress's chairman, Kemal A. Stamboel, said yesterday that the meeting is scheduled to be opened by Coordinating Minister for Production and Distribution Hartarto.

Among the other notable speakers to address the conference are Paul Keating, former Australian prime minister and now a visiting professor at the University of New South Wales; Minister of Finance Mar'ie Muhammad, Bank Indonesia Governor Soedradjad Djiwandono, Minister of Tourism, Post and Telecommunications Joop Ave, State Minister of Investment Sanyoto Sastrowardoyo and Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Dato' Anwar Ibrahim.

Hundreds of financial executives from the association's chapters in 22 countries are expected to gather at the congress, which will hold the first two days of sessions in Jakarta and the last session in Bali on Nov. 1

An exhibition of the latest developments in financial products and technology will be held to coincide with the congress, which will be hosted by the Indonesian Financial Executives Association. (vin)
