Tomorrow is the First Day Central Java Implements WFH, Application Prepared
Ahead of the implementation of Work From Home (WFH), the Central Java Provincial Government has begun various preparations, particularly the provision of facilities and infrastructure. For example, an application for employees carrying out work from home.
According to Media Indonesia monitoring on Thursday (9/4), the Central Java Provincial Government will begin implementing Work From Home (WFH) on Friday (10/4) as a programme to save energy and curb budgets. In addition, devices and monitoring programmes are being prepared for civil servants (ASN) and PPPK working from home.
Even when working from home, thousands of ASN and PPPK in Central Java are still required to work in the morning from 06:00–08:00 WIB and in the afternoon from 14:00–16:00 WIB, and they do not need to go to the office with coordinate points regulated by the Regional Civil Service Agency (BKD) that can be monitored via the prepared application.
“Like the central government, the Central Java Provincial Government is implementing WFH once a week, namely every Friday, with the Civil Service Information System (Sinaga) application used by all ASN and PPPK,” said Assistant for Administration of the Central Java Regional Secretary Dhoni Widianto.
According to Dhoni, the composition of employees carrying out WFH and work from office (WFO) is regulated by the heads of regional apparatus, such as high, middle, and first-level leadership positions, service and operational units in the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP), regional hospitals, health laboratories, Public Health Centres, educational units, regional revenue service units (Samsat), and work units that directly interact with the public.
In addition to the WFH arrangement, the Central Java Provincial Government is also regulating transportation options for ASN to the office to save fuel oil (BBM), such as employees living around 1.5 kilometres from the office are encouraged to walk. ASN with a distance from home up to 10 kilometres are advised to use pedal bicycles or electric bicycles.
When carrying out WFO, Dhoni Widianto continued, employees are allowed to use public transport considering distance, travel time, and service availability.
“Another scheme, if several ASN live close by, they can use ride-sharing or carpooling to go together,” he added.
Meanwhile, Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi said that the implementation of WFH in Central Java for around 62,000 ASN starting this Friday could save the budget by up to Rp3.5 billion per month.
“So if one month for all ASN in Central Java numbering around 62,000 people implementing WFH, it could be around Rp3.5 billion,” said Ahmad Luthfi.
However, WFH is not implemented in all regional apparatus organisations (OPD), Ahmad Luthfi continued, because public-facing services will still carry out WFO such as hospitals, licensing services, then the Civil Service Police Unit for security, and so on.
In addition to the WFH implementation, Ahmad Luthfi said, as part of this budget and energy saving effort, the Central Java Provincial Government is also reducing the use of water and electricity, because this is no less important in that effort. “So once every office is finished, there is coordination for the duty roster to turn off electricity and water,” he added.
