Toll roads get fewer vehicles

JAKARTA (JP): The number of vehicles using the city's toll roads during Idul Fitri was less than December's average.

Anwar Rivai, spokesman for state-owned highway corporation PT Jasa Marga, said an average of 171,740 vehicles had used the tollways and the Jagorawi, Jakarta-Cikampek and Jakarta-Merak , and the airport toll roads seven days before, during and after Idul Fitri.

The average number of vehicles during the Idul Fitri festivities brought in Rp 1.29 trillion, an average of Rp 258,254,800 a day.

"During December, the average number of vehicles using the turnpikes was 204,580 a day, bringing in Rp 286,435,800 in average daily revenue," Anwar said.

He said the number of vehicles using the country's toll roads during the recent Idul Fitri holiday was 1.14 million a day, 155,000 less than last year's Idul Fitri. (sur)
