Today, Transjakarta Bus Fares Are Only Rp 1 per Passenger
The Jakarta Provincial Government is waiving fares for public transport services managed by its regional-owned enterprises on Friday (24/4/2026). One of the public transport services being offered at a discount is Transjakarta.
Head of Public Relations and CSR at Transjakarta, Ayu Wardhani, stated that the policy is being implemented to mark National Transportation Day, which falls today. Therefore, the Jakarta Provincial Government is applying a special fare of Rp 1 for the public using public transport, including Transjakarta.
“Through the Rp 1 fare, we aim to provide convenience while encouraging more residents to switch to public transport as an efficient and sustainable mobility choice,” said Ayu in a press statement in Jakarta on Thursday (23/4/2026).
She explained that the public can enjoy the special Rp 1 fare across all Transjakarta services, both Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and non-BRT. The special fare applies throughout Friday from 00:00 WIB to 23:59 WIB.
Ayu added that services such as Mikrotrans, Transjakarta Cares (Transcare), and free services for eligible beneficiaries under the Rp 0 fare category will continue to operate at their original rates. This means those services remain free, in accordance with Jakarta Governor Regulation Number 160 of 2016.
“We hope this momentum will further increase public interest in using public transport, not only on National Transportation Day but also as part of a more efficient and environmentally friendly daily mobility lifestyle,” said Ayu.
Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo stated that his administration has decided to waive fares for public transport managed by Jakarta’s regional-owned enterprises today. The services in question are Transjakarta, MRT, and LRT Jakarta.
“The DKI Jakarta Government, to welcome National Transportation Day, will provide facilities for ease or free rides,” said Pramono in his statement on Thursday.
According to Pramono, the provincial government is intentionally introducing this policy to encourage more people to use public transport. Moreover, Jakarta’s public transport services are already relatively comprehensive.
“Why are we providing this? Because the Jakarta Government wants the public to become more accustomed to using public transport facilities owned by the DKI Jakarta Government,” said Pramono.
