To Support Work Culture Transformation, BPJPH Emphasises Discipline and Productivity of Employees During WFH
The Halal Product Assurance Organising Agency (BPJPH) has issued Circular Letter No. 4 of 2026 on the Implementation of Official Duties for Employees within BPJPH to support the acceleration of governance transformation in public administration. This policy forms part of strategic steps to promote a bureaucratic work culture transformation that is more adaptive, efficient, and performance-oriented. Through this policy, BPJPH applies a work-from-home (WFH) pattern that not only prioritises flexibility but also demands high discipline, accountability, and performance responsiveness to maintain productivity. BPJPH Head Ahmad Haikal Hasan, familiarly known as Babe Haikal, emphasised that WFH must be understood as part of a bureaucratic work culture change oriented towards results, not merely a technical adjustment. He also affirmed that efficiency in mobility is one of the main essences in implementing WFH. “By not travelling using vehicles, it will directly impact efficiency, while also increasing focus, productivity, and performance quality,” he stated. Meanwhile, BPJPH Chief Secretary Muhammad Aqil Irham explained that the implementation of WFH has clear boundaries and must be carried out with high discipline by all employees. Aqil conveyed that every employee remains obligated to fully carry out duties from home or their residence with a high level of responsiveness. All communication devices must also be in active condition and reachable at all times during working hours. He added that inactivity in communication or delayed responses cannot be justified in the WFH work scheme. Because that would contradict the essence of WFH, which aims to minimise mobility and optimise online activities so that all time and energy can be focused on completing tasks in a disciplined and fully responsible manner. Through this circular letter, BPJPH targets the realisation of an adaptive, responsive, and performance-based work culture. The implementation of WFH is expected not only to maintain the continuity of organisational performance in an adaptive manner but also to improve the quality of public services sustainably.
