TNI Commander Orders Troops in Lebanon to Enter Bunkers and Halt Outdoor Activities

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto has ordered TNI personnel participating in the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon to remain inside bunkers and halt all activities outside the base. The instruction was conveyed by Agus during a video call with the Commander of Task Force Yonmek XXIII-S/UNIFIL in Lebanon on Friday (3/4/2026). “Maintain the morale of the troops there, continue internal security, enter the bunkers, and there should be no activities outside,” Agus stated, as quoted from his personal Instagram account on Saturday (4/4/2026). “Ready, Commander,” replied the Task Force Commander. Agus also emphasised the importance of keeping the troops’ spirits high amid the heated situation. “And maintain the morale of the troops so they remain enthusiastic. Thank you,” he said. The Task Force Commander reaffirmed his unit’s readiness. “Ready, Commander, we will carry it out,” he stated. “Stay enthusiastic,” Agus added. “Ready. Thank you for the guidance; we convey greetings to all the troops. Garuda Prima!” responded the Task Force Commander. The directive follows the deaths of three TNI personnel while carrying out the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon. The three soldiers were Captain Infantry Zulmi Aditya Iskandar, Sergeant One Muhammad Nur, and Chief Private Farizal Rhomadhon.
