As Eid al-Fitr approaches, residents of Mataram City are beginning to seek out coconut jelly hampers as an alternative to the traditional biscuit hampers. These hampers, valued for being unique, healthy, and fresh, have become a new choice for locals to share gifts for Eid this year.

The innovative coconut jelly hamper is a creation of Afila Hardiyanti, owner of Lica Lecy Pudding business. Afila explained that the idea of creating coconut hampers arose from her desire to present a more exclusive and different product.

“Since the theme is now Eid, I created hampers specifically for Eid theme. I thought about making something more unique, such as from coconut. Because many people are looking for hampers that are not sold by others,” Afila said in Mataram on Sunday (15 March 2026).

Afila’s unique coconut hamper does not simply use whole coconuts but transforms them into savoury jelly and pudding. In terms of pricing, the coconut jelly hamper is priced starting from 65,000 rupiah for a single package, 130,000 rupiah for a double package, and 155,000 rupiah for a complete package.

“The single unit package (65,000 rupiah) is the most popular because it is affordable. But it still has an exclusive and attractive appearance,” she explained.

Afila’s unique hamper business has received a positive response from Mataram residents. In a single day, Afila receives approximately 50 orders for coconut jelly hampers.

Afila stated that her customers are dominated by office workers and those from the banking sector. Most orders come from people outside Lombok. In terms of contents, Afila also offers vegan coconut jelly and pudding for those on a diet.

“Many orders come from outside the island. They want to send to their relatives in Lombok. For delivery, we limit it to the Mataram City area and Central Lombok. We do this to maintain quality when it is consumed,” she said.

Despite the relatively high level of orders, Afila admitted she faces some difficulty in obtaining coconut raw materials. This is because coconut raw materials are also in high demand from coconut ice sellers.

“It’s quite difficult to find raw materials. Especially since many people are also looking for coconut. The price of materials is also currently expensive,” she added.

Meanwhile, Ayu, a Mataram resident, said she likes Afila’s coconut jelly hampers. “The hamper is very unique. In previous years I always sent dried biscuits, but now we have switched to coconut jelly hampers. Unique, and definitely healthy. So elderly people can also enjoy it,” she said on Sunday.
