Timeline of the Bibi Kelinci Kemang Case: Nabilah O’Brien Becomes a Suspect After Reporting a Theft
In March 2026, the case surrounding Nabilah O’Brien, owner of Bibi Kelinci Kopitiam in Kemang, South Jakarta, drew public attention. The incident began when a husband-and-wife duo, identified as ZK and ESR, ordered 14 portions of food and drinks totaling Rp530,150. Because service took about 30 minutes, the customers grew impatient. CCTV footage shows the female customer, ESR, forcing her way into the kitchen area, abusing staff, and threatening to raze the restaurant. Shortly after, the couple left with their order without paying (a dine-and-dash).
On 6 March 2026, Mampang Prapatan Police Precinct chief AKP Dian Purnomo confirmed that two separate cases were being handled by different police units.
In a 5 March 2026 Instagram post, Nabilah explained why she had remained silent for five months. She said she was afraid after her own status was reversed and claimed that there had been a demand for Rp1 billion (one billion Rupiah) to settle the matter.
“I am a victim of theft who became a suspect at Bareskrim Polri. I stayed silent for five months because I was afraid to speak out,” she wrote in a post that tagged the Police Chief, Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and the DPR’s Commission III.
DPR Commission III has expressed attention to the case that has ensnared the owner of Bibi Kelinci Kopitiam Kemang. Criminal Law lecturer Azmi Syahputra criticised the designation of Nabilah O’Brien as a suspect.
Gubernur DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung has asserted that the normalisation of Kali Krukut and the Ciliwung River will continue.
Authorities say a weapon was placed in the boot of a yellow Toyota Agya before being moved to the scene.
Further, Ade explained that nine of the 25 people detained had been named as suspects.
DPR Commission III has again signalled its attention to the case involving Nabilah O’Brien; she became a suspect after reporting a non-payment by a customer.
Criminal Law lecturer Azmi Syahputra of Universitas Trisakti again commented on the designation of a suspect in the Bibi Kelinci Kemang case.
