Throughout 2025, Allianz Syariah's Critical Illness Claims Reach Rp600 Billion
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — Critical illness has become a threat to everyone. This category of illness, besides being dangerous to the body, can also destabilise financial security. When the risk materialises, the impact is not only medical condition; it includes loss of income, disruption of financial plans, and drastic changes in quality of life.
Elmie A. Najas, Chief Executive Officer of Allianz Life Syariah Indonesia, said that throughout 2025 the company has channelled total critical illness claims amounting to Rp600 billion, with 40% of claims coming from customers aged under 45, i.e. the productive age group. “This figure has risen 11% compared with the previous year. It means that the risk of critical illness is now closer to the active generation that forms the backbone of the family,” he said at Westin Tower Jakarta, quoted on Thursday (4 March 2026).
He explained that given this urgency, the need for protection solutions that not only cover medical costs but also maintain the continuity of the family income has become increasingly urgent. In a Sharia perspective, protection against major risks such as critical illness is part of the ikhtiar to protect the soul while also being a responsibility to the family.
Allianz Syariah through AlliSya CI Hasanah offers a Sharia-based critical illness protection solution designed to maintain the family’s financial stability through income replacement benefits.
“AlliSya CI Hasanah, we present as an answer to the community’s need for critical illness protection that not only provides a payout, but also ensures the continuance of family earnings,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Product at Allianz Life Syariah Indonesia explained that the product was developed with a flexible and adaptive approach to meet various community needs.
“AlliSya CI Hasanah provides high flexibility in choosing benefits and protection duration, and introduces an income replacement feature to maintain financial stability,” he added.
