Through the Mini MBA in Property Programme, BTN Successfully Trains 863 New Developers
JAKARTA - PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) has managed to produce 863 new developers since the Mini MBA in Property Program was implemented from 2016 to 2025. For 2025, BTN produced 71 new developers through the Mini MBA in Property Program for Batch 23, Batch 24, and Makassar Batch.
The program, which is the result of collaboration between the BTN Housing Finance Center (HFC) and the School of Business and Management (SBM) of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), provides complete learning as well as real simulations to become qualified developers. This program also opens access to various housing project loans at BTN.
BTN Commercial Banking Director Hermita said this program was held to produce competent developers who provide quality and affordable homes for the Indonesian people.
“Graduates from the Mini MBA in Property not only get knowledge but we will also provide access to construction loans at BTN, coaching for loans for MSMEs in the housing cluster, to business matching with quality markets and business actors connected in the BTN housing ecosystem,” said Hermita on the sidelines of the 2026 Mini MBA in Property Graduation in Jakarta, Saturday, March 28.
Hermita continued, the property sector still has great potential because the need for houses in Indonesia continues to increase, especially in rural areas. In addition, currently the Government is providing strong support to develop the national housing sector with various financing and subsidy programs.
The implementation of the Mini MBA in Property Program, according to Hermita, is also BTN’s step to improve the quality of housing in Indonesia and encourage the national economy. This is because the house is a capital-intensive sector and uses 90% of local materials.
“Even for every Rp1 trillion of capital entering the housing sector, it will add 8,000 workers, so it has a major impact on the national economy,” said Hermita.
Since its launch in 2016, the Mini MBA in Property program has produced 863 alumni throughout Indonesia. Throughout 2025, alumni of this program have recorded financing and funding cooperation with BTN worth Rp. 35.3 billion, both in terms of funding and lending.
In the future, BTN will continue to strengthen this program as part of the beyond mortgage strategy, not only focusing on financing, but also building an integrated housing ecosystem. BTN will also open the Mini MBA in Property Batch 25 Program which is scheduled to start on April 11, 2026 at BTN Tower 2, Jakarta.
On the same occasion, the Vice Dean for Resources of the School of Business and Management of the Bandung Institute of Technology, Prof. Donald Crestofel Lantu, said that the program which has been running for 10 years is designed as an applied and transformative learning. All participants, he added, have undergone an intensive learning process for 63 hours face-to-face which is designed based on a structured curriculum resulting from collaboration between HFC BTN and SBM ITB. The curriculum emphasizes four main pillars in property business, namely Business Model & Market, Finance & Risk, Project & Operation, and Regulation & Law.
“Through the case study method and direct learning from practitioners, participants not only gain knowledge, but also networks and mentors. Hopefully, they will become industry players who are able to bring about real changes that not only build houses, but build lives,” said Donald.
In the same event, a seminar “Property Outlook 2026: Turning Market Insights into Business Opportunities” was also held, which provided a complete overview of the potential of the property business in Indonesia. Also present as speakers at the event were Senior Research Advisor Knight & Frank Indonesia Syarifah Syaukat, Senior Analyst of the Directorate General of Economic and Fiscal Strategy, Ministry of Finance Kristiyanto, and CEO of Pesona Kahuripan Group Angga Budi Kusuma.
