Three Hajj Pilgrims from East Java Return Home Early via Tanazul Scheme
Three Hajj pilgrims from East Java have been repatriated earlier than scheduled through the tanazul scheme, a facilitation policy that allows pilgrims to separate from their original flight groups during the return journey. The Head of the Surabaya Embarkation Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH), As’adul Anam, stated in Surabaya on Thursday (11/6) that this policy is granted to pilgrims with special conditions, particularly those related to health issues, provided there are vacant seats in the returning flight group. “These vacant seats are filled by pilgrims from other groups who are using the tanazul scheme. To date, three tanazul pilgrims have been repatriated via Group 20 and Group 30,” Anam said in Surabaya. Anam explained that the majority of pilgrims returning early via the tanazul scheme did so due to health conditions. However, the process can only proceed once the medical condition of the pilgrim is declared stable by Hajj officers. The tanazul scheme is a specific provision granted to Hajj pilgrims during the repatriation phase. Under this policy, pilgrims in emergency conditions can return home earlier without having to wait for the departure schedule of their original flight group. “Most cases are due to illness. Their conditions have improved, and their families requested they be repatriated sooner,” he clarified. The three pilgrims were repatriated by joining other flight groups that still had vacant seats. They were included in Group 20 and Group 30, which arrived at the Surabaya Embarkation on Wednesday (10/6) evening. The total number of pilgrims and officers scheduled to return through the Surabaya Embarkation is 44,000 individuals.
