Three die in bus accident

GROBOGAN, Central Java: An intercity bus careened off the road
and hit a tree on Sunday evening, killing at least three people
and leaving nine others injured.

Local police chief Lt. Col. Cornelis said that the driver of
the bus fled the scene and was still at large.

Cornelis said the bus, on its way from Semarang to the town,
was speeding when one of its tires burst and the accident
occurred.

The dead were all residents of Grobogan. The injured remain
hospitalized. (har)
