Three aliens held for Ecstasy

SEMARANG: An Irishman and two Singaporeans are being held on suspicion of trafficking Ecstasy in Indonesia, National Police Chief Lt. Gen. Dibyo Widodo said yesterday.

The foreigners are believed to be members of drug syndicates that supply the pills in Indonesia.

"Countless pills have been seized from traffickers. In Jakarta alone, the police have confiscated more than 100,000 pills, not to mention those seized in other cities such as Yogyakarta, Semarang and Denpasar," he said.

He said he had ordered all police commanders in the provinces to step up their fight against Ecstasy. (har/pan)
