Thousands of Tourists Visit Thousand Islands During Lunar New Year Holiday
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Thousand Islands Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Sudin Parekraf) recorded thousands of tourists visiting a number of tourism destinations in the area during the Lunar New Year (Imlek) 2577 Kongzili holiday.
"A total of 3,524 international and domestic tourists visited the Thousand Islands area, taking advantage of the extended Lunar New Year holiday during the period of 14-16 February 2026," said the Head of Sudin Parekraf Thousand Islands, Sonti Pangaribuan, in Jakarta on Tuesday.
According to him, tourists arrived through several main entry points. Marina Ancol Pier received 736 visitors, Muara Angke Pier received 2,302, and Tanjung Pasir Pier received 486 visitors.
The increase in visitor numbers, he said, demonstrates the strong interest of tourists in holidaying in the Thousand Islands.
"The number of tourist visits will continue to grow alongside the Lunar New Year holiday," he said.
Sonti urged tourists to continue complying with safety regulations, maintaining environmental cleanliness, and supporting sustainable tourism during their visits to the Thousand Islands.
"We hope that the public and tourists can comply with regulations for the sake of collective safety," he said.
