JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) is preparing three electrification models for the Indonesian market in 2026, comprising two hybrid models and one battery electric vehicle (BEV). The plan forms part of Honda’s staged electrification strategy in Indonesia, with the main focus on reinforcing the hybrid line.

‘We will add two hybrid models and add one battery electric vehicle in 2026. We are not only expanding the electrification line, we will ensure Honda’s distinctive character remains strong in this new era,’ said Yusak Billy, Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of HPM, in Jakarta on Tuesday (3 March 2026).

‘If we look at our 2040 target, it is net-zero emissions for vehicles and by 2050 for the company as a whole. So we are implementing a staged electrification. For now the focus remains on hybrids, while also introducing several battery-based vehicles,’ Billy said.

Two hybrid models coming in 2026 are described as refreshes of existing products. This strategy reinforces that hybrids remain Honda’s backbone in Indonesia’s electrification transition, given that the market is not yet fully ready to switch to pure electric vehicles.

For the BEV, although details are kept confidential, it is likely to be the Super One or a Brio electric with a battery-based platform.

Earlier in 2026, Honda has made several product updates. Four models received refreshes at once: Honda WR-V, Honda BR-V N7X, Honda Brio Satya with the new S CVT variant, and the latest version of Honda CR-V e:HEV, the RS e:HEV.

Specifically, the CR-V e:HEV embodies Honda’s hybrid technology, prioritising fuel efficiency and driving performance that the brand is known for.

‘Ultimately, trust for us is not just the foundation we have laid but a sincere and ongoing commitment that makes Honda known to the public,’ Billy said.

With the addition of two hybrids and one BEV in 2026, Honda demonstrates a dual strategy: strengthening hybrids as a transitional bridge, while simultaneously expanding Indonesia’s battery-electric vehicle portfolio.
