Thirteen Gaza Residents Killed in Israeli Attack, Including Pregnant Woman
An Israeli airstrike in Gaza has killed at least 13 Palestinian civilians, including two boys, a pregnant woman, and nine police officers.
A missile attack on Sunday, 15 March local time, struck a house in Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, killing four people, including a couple in their 30s and their 10-year-old son, according to Al-Aqsa Hospital. The woman was pregnant with twins, the hospital stated.
The fourth fatality was a 15-year-old neighbour of the couple, who was taken to al-Awda hospital in Nuseirat.
“We were sleeping and woke up because of the missile strike. The attack was very powerful,” said Mahmoud al-Muhtaseb, a neighbour. “There was no warning beforehand,” he added.
A separate missile strike hit a police vehicle in the Philadelphia Corridor area at the entrance to az-Zawayda in central Gaza, according to Gaza’s Interior Ministry. The strike killed nine police officers, including Colonel Iyad Ab Yousef, a senior police official in central Gaza, the ministry said.
Al-Aqsa Hospital, which received the bodies of the victims, confirmed the death toll. An additional 14 people were reported injured.
Gaza’s Interior Ministry stated: “We condemn the heinous crime committed by the Israeli occupation this afternoon when they bombed a police vehicle… The officers and personnel were carrying out their duties monitoring the market and maintaining security and order during the holy month of Ramadan.”
The Israeli military has not issued a direct comment on either attack.
The deaths on Sunday represent the latest casualties among Palestinians in Gaza since the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas attempted to halt the Israeli war, which has now lasted more than two years in the territory. Although the heaviest fighting has subsided, Israeli strikes continue almost daily. In addition to airstrikes, Israeli forces frequently fire on Palestinians near areas controlled by Israeli military. According to Gaza health officials, more than 650 Palestinians have been killed since 10 October 2025.
