Commission XI of the Indonesian Parliament has finally appointed members of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Board of Commissioners following a fit and proper test conducted on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

Commission XI tested ten candidates for the OJK Board of Commissioners: Friderica Widyasari Dewi, Agus Sugiarto, Hernawan Bekti Sasongko, Ary Zulfikar, Hasan Fawzi, Darmansyah, Dicky Kartikoyono, Danu Febrianto, Adi Budiarso, and Anton Daryono. Of the ten candidates, only five were appointed to the OJK Board of Commissioners.

Widyasari’s appointment as Chair is uncontroversial given her current position as Vice Chair of the OJK Board of Commissioners, which demonstrates her competence in the role.

Her educational credentials are impressive. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Universitas Gadjah Mada in 2001 and subsequently pursued postgraduate studies at California State University in the United States, earning a Master of Business Administration in 2004.

Born in Cepu on 28 November 1975, Widyasari spent over a decade working at Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) before joining OJK. She served at IDX from 2005, eventually becoming Director of Market Development at PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (2009–2015).

Whilst working at IDX, she also pursued a parallel career in self-regulatory organisations as Director of Finance at PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI) from 2015–2016. She was subsequently promoted to Chief Executive Officer of KSEI (2016–2019) before taking the position of Chief Executive Officer at BRI Danareksa Securities (2020–2022).

The public, particularly capital market participants, await Widyasari’s initiatives to strengthen Indonesia’s healthy investment climate.
