The Story of Muklisin, the PPSU Officer Who Went Viral for Posting "Before-After" Work Evidence
JAKARTA — Muklisin (41), a Penanganan Prasarana dan Sarana Umum (PPSU) officer in Penjaringan subdistrict, North Jakarta, has become a topic of discussion on social media after regularly posting documentation of his rubbish cleaning activities in a before-and-after comparison format. The content is uploaded via his personal Instagram account and has attracted the attention of netizens in recent days. Through his Instagram account @skil_zona_sia_sia, Muklisin shares the condition of the environment before cleaning and after it is tidied up. He emphasises that the documentation is a personal initiative, not part of official work reports. Muklisin claims he has long documented his cleaning work, even before joining as a PPSU officer. “If I’m not mistaken, it started around 2015 on Facebook, also under Muklisin. Around 2015 or 2014, anyway, before PPSU existed,” he continued. He began working as a PPSU officer in 2016, but has been involved in cleaning since 2010 while still in the private sector. Muklisin previously served in Pejagalan subdistrict, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, before resigning in 2019. After a two-year hiatus, he re-applied as a PPSU officer, this time in Penjaringan subdistrict. Currently, Muklisin is assigned to the Jembatan Tiga area in Penjaringan, with the responsibility of sweeping an area spanning about one kilometre. He starts his activities in the morning after travelling from his home in Tangerang to the work location. “So from home, I wake up at 04.00 WIB, get ready, start to the subdistrict at 05.00 WIB, check in. At 06.00 WIB, cleaning begins,” he explained. According to him, field conditions often vary, from relatively clean to littered with rubbish, depending on residents’ activities. He also frequently catches residents littering and reprimands them directly. “Sometimes when one person places rubbish, others follow suit, definitely,” he said. “The one that went viral, I think it was from Wednesday (8/4/2026) if I’m not mistaken. I didn’t know, suddenly it went viral,” he stated. According to him, the virality of the content coincided with the emergence of a case involving a PPSU officer suspected of falsifying JAKI app reports using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Kalisari, East Jakarta. He believes this issue has the potential to reduce public trust in PPSU performance.
