The Story of Ibu Eka After Two Years of Holding Back Longing, Now Able to Travel Home Comfortably with PNM
For some people, travelling home for Eid (mudik) is a routine annual journey. However, for others, this trip holds a simple hope of arriving safely, without worry, and reuniting with family.
In 2026, the Free Mudik with State-Owned Enterprises programme, initiated by the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN) together with Danantara, returned to facilitate the public.
Nationally, the programme served 116,688 travellers heading to various regions across Indonesia. As part of the programme, PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) participated by sending off 564 mudik participants for the public and especially PNM customers.
Among the hundreds of participants, there is the story of Ibu Eka Warni, a PNM Mekaar customer from Tangerang. For Ibu Eka, the mudik journey is not just about going home, but also about keeping herself strong throughout the trip.
She lives with the autoimmune condition Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), which makes long journeys, especially by private vehicle like a motorbike, difficult and full of considerations.
The desire to mudik has long been cherished by her. The last time she returned to her hometown was two years ago. However, this time, the opportunity came in a different, safer and more comfortable way.
Day to day, Ibu Eka runs a home-based business. From that simple business, she not only helps the family economy but also involves her neighbours around her. Amid the limitations she faces, Ibu Eka still chooses to keep moving and provide benefits to others.
“I am so grateful to be able to join the free mudik with PNM. Alhamdulillah, we could mudik safely and comfortably. I am also grateful to be able to run a business and increase my income thanks to PNM’s assistance, and then get free mudik. This year’s Ramadan has been truly blessed for me,” said Ibu Eka.
For PNM, the mudik journey is not just about mobility, but also about bringing comfort to customers who have struggled throughout the year.
PNM’s Corporate Secretary, Dodot Patria Ary, stated that this programme is part of PNM’s commitment to providing broader services to the public.
The Free Mudik with PNM programme is a service for the public, especially customers, so they can undertake the mudik journey more safely, comfortably, and arrive safely to meet their families in their hometowns.
“Behind every journey like this, there is a story of struggle that wants to reunite with family. Therefore, we want to ensure this journey can be undertaken more calmly, with mutual care, until safely reaching the destination,” said Dodot in a statement on Friday (20/3/2026).
Through this programme, PNM not only provides the journey but also ensures every step home feels lighter. Behind every bus seat, there is a story of longing to be fulfilled, families waiting, and hopes being brought closer.
