The Second Oldest Toll Road in Indonesia
The Semarang ABC Toll Road, known as Jalan Tol Semarang ABC, is divided into three sections: Section A (Manyaran), Section B (Srondol), and Section C (Kaligawe). The three sections converge at the Jangli Interchange (Simpang Susun Jangli), a central hub of connectivity in Semarang. From the Jangli Interchange, almost the entire area of Semarang can be accessed with relative ease. Because it comprises Sections A, B and C, locals commonly refer to it as the Semarang ABC Toll Road.
The Semarang ABC Toll Road began operating in 1983 and is listed as one of the oldest toll roads in Indonesia, alongside the Jagorawi Toll Road. With a total length of 24.75 kilometres, the Semarang ABC Toll Road is a key piece of infrastructure in Central Java and is part of the Trans-Java Toll Road network spanning the western to eastern ends of Java.
At the southern end, the Semarang ABC Toll Road connects directly with the Semarang–Solo Toll Road. On the western side, it links with the Semarang–Batang Toll Road. In operation, the Semarang ABC Toll Road includes one rest area located at KM 424B in the direction of Jakarta. In addition, there are nine toll gates (gerbang tol) serving entry and exit for vehicles.
