Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — The Financial Services Authority (OJK) is observing an uptick in financing disbursement in the fintech peer-to-peer (P2P) lending and multifinance sectors during Ramadan or ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

Historically, Agusman, the Executive Director of Supervisory for Financing Institutions, Venture Capital Firms, Microfinance Institutions, and Other Financial Services Institutions at OJK, said that financing disbursement in Pindar (P2P lending) in March 2024 grew 8.9% month-on-month (mtm) and in March 2025 grew 3.8% mtm.

As is known, Eid al-Fitr in 2024 fell on 9-10 April and in 2025 on 30-31 March.

‘This indicates that the Ramadan period up to Eid al-Fitr becomes a momentum for increased financing disbursement, in line with rising household needs and seasonal working capital support for MSMEs,’ Agusman said in a written response quoted on Friday, 6 March 2026.

Meanwhile, the funding quality (TWP90) of the Pindar industry is expected to remain below 5%. Therefore, among other things, there is a need to strengthen credit scoring and borrower verification to ensure healthy and sustainable growth during the momentum.

On the multifinance side, financing receivables also tend to rise in the run-up to Eid al-Fitr. In March 2024, financing disbursement grew 2.05% mtm with gross NPF kept at 2.45%, while in March 2025 it rose 0.78% mtm with gross NPF at 2.71%.

‘This shows that Eid momentum generally supports increased financing with credit quality kept intact,’ he added.

To maintain financing quality, OJK urged business players to strengthen risk management in line with POJK 42/2024, which requires active governance of risk management, identification processes, as well as risk controls and adequate internal control systems.
