JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – A THR (Tunjangan Hari Raya) request letter allegedly on behalf of the Tanjung Priok Port Police has circulated on social media. Dated 4 March 2026, the letter was addressed to the Director/Head of PT KPA Transport. It states that the families of the Traffic Unit (Satlantas) of the Tanjung Priok Port Police are requesting an Eid al-Fitr THR for the 1447 Hijri year. The letter was signed only by ‘staff’ without naming a police officer or providing a Personnel Registration Number (NRP), though it bore a police stamp.

This was confirmed by the Port Police Chief, AKBP Aris Wibowo. ‘In principle, we from the Tanjung Priok Port Police never issued that letter,’ he told Kompas.com on Thursday (5 March 2026). He said they would investigate to identify the party behind the impersonation. ‘Undergoing a deeper inquiry,’ he added. ‘We have also coordinated with Aptrindo,’ he said. He noted that Aptrindo had issued a clarification letter regarding the matter. ‘(The letter) is attached to prevent anyone from being harmed,’ he said.

Meanwhile, the Regional Leadership Council of the Indonesian Trucking Association (DPD Aptrindo) Jakarta urged freight transport companies operating at Tanjung Priok to ignore the THR request. ‘Port Police Chief AKBP Aris Wibowo stated that the letter was not an official document issued by the Tanjung Priok Port Police; rather it is suspected to be the action of individuals impersonating the Satlantas Polres Tanjung Priok,’ said Dharmawan Witanto in a formal statement on Thursday. ‘(The Port Police) will take action against the individuals involved for tarnishing the good name of the police institution,’ he said. Dharmawan urged trucking companies to not respond to any request whose source is unclear in any form. ‘DPD Aptrindo DKI Jakarta urges all freight transport companies, particularly those operating in the Tanjung Priok area, to ignore and not respond to any such requests,’ he added.
