The AI-Era Job Market Becomes Increasingly Competitive as FEB UNM Prepares Graduates from Classroom Entry
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The job market in 2026 is becoming increasingly competitive, driven by rapid technological disruption, the utilisation of artificial intelligence (AI), and industry demands for adaptable and multi-skilled human resources.
This situation confirms that academic degrees alone are no longer sufficient without relevant competencies that meet the needs of the job market. In response to this challenge, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Nusa Mandiri University (UNM) continues to strengthen its role as a Digital Business Campus that focuses on students’ career readiness.
This step aligns with the vision of FEB UNM: “To become a Superior, Independent, and Innovative Faculty of Economics and Business based on Digital Technology.”
The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at UNM, Ida Zuniarti, emphasised that the transformation of the job market must be addressed with changes in the approach to higher education.
“Higher education institutions must not only produce graduates with degrees. Students must be equipped with real competencies, industry experience, and the ability to adapt. At FEB UNM, we prepare students to be ready for work even before they graduate,” she stated in a press release quoted on Wednesday (25 February 2026).
She explained that one of FEB UNM’s main strategies is to strengthen industry-based curricula, contextual learning, and the integration of digital technology into the academic process. The flagship Internship Experience Program (IEP) 3+1 is also a key differentiator at UNM.
Through this program, students will study for three years and complete a one-year internship in the industry. Through the IEP 3+1 program, students gain real work experience, build professional networks, and understand workplace culture from an early stage.
“The IEP 3+1 program gives UNM students a competitive advantage. They not only learn theory in the classroom but also gain direct experience in the workplace, so that when they graduate, they already have experience and a portfolio,” she added.
In addition, FEB UNM equips students with competency certifications, digital marketing training, entrepreneurship development, and active collaboration with industry partners. Students are encouraged to build portfolios through real projects, case studies, and relevant organisational activities that meet the needs of the job market.
Through this approach, she explained, FEB UNM reaffirms its commitment to producing graduates who are not only ready to become professionals but are also able to create business opportunities in the era of the digital economy.
“As a Digital Business Campus, UNM continues to provide an adaptive, applicable, and relevant learning ecosystem for the future of the industry,” she said.
