Thanks to PPSE Assistance, West Bandung Residents Can Resume Selling and Children Can Attend School
Entin Sumartini (51) can now resume her trading activities after receiving assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs’ Social and Economic Empowerment Programme (PPSE), while her child can continue education at the Integrated People’s School (SRT) 17 in Cimahi.
Entin’s story serves as one example of the integration of President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto’s priority programmes, which have a significant impact in breaking the chain of poverty. This integration begins with access to free quality education through the People’s School and empowerment to enhance independence.
“My business started in 2017, selling seblak and bakso; initially, I had capital of Rp80,000. Alhamdulillah, I can sell again; my stall received assistance from PPSE,” said Entin in a written statement on Tuesday (24/3/2026).
She said this when met some time ago in Pataruman Village, Cihampelas Subdistrict, West Bandung.
The assistance provided was used to purchase equipment and materials for her business needs, such as cooking utensils, a blender, an ice crusher machine, a stove, a gas cylinder, ingredients for making seblak and bakso, and so on. This additional business capital automatically increased Entin’s daily income. In a day, she can earn a gross income of approximately Rp150,000.
“Usually I get Rp100,000, now I get Rp150,000,” she said.
Entin admitted she is greatly helped by the empowerment programme to increase family income. This is because her husband’s income as a construction day labourer is uncertain, depending on the availability of projects.
In addition, she could not hide her感動 emotion because her child can receive free quality education at the People’s School.
“Alhamdulillah, very helpful, especially with the child attending SR (People’s School); it helps a lot. I don’t have the costs for the child’s schooling. Alhamdulillah, there is assistance from Mr President; finally, my child can go to school again,” said Entin while shedding tears.
In a separate location, Entin’s son who is a student at SRT 17 Cimahi, Diki Maulana (16), sent a message to his parents.
“My message to my parents is to stay healthy, have a long life, and always keep struggling,” said Diki.
Diki also promised to make the best use of the educational opportunity at the People’s School to achieve his dreams and help elevate his family’s status.
