Thai Airways leads as a cultural ambassador

Thailand and Indonesia have been enjoying a long and
harmonious relationship for years. Thai Airways International
Public Company Limited as Thailand's national flag carrier has
played a vital role as a cultural ambassador for the Indonesian
people. It has showed its commitment by scheduling daily flights
to Indonesia, especially to Jakarta and Denpasar. Moreover, THAI
has high hopes that the two countries relations could be improved
more in the future by air transport.

Thailand and Indonesia, as members of ASEAN, have many things
in common, such as their cultural backgrounds, natural and
beautiful landscapes and, not to mention, the friendly faces and
smiles of the peoples.

Thailand's unique landscape, which stretches from the majestic
and enchanting mountains in the north down to the white sand and
crystal blue water beach in the south, has charmed tourists to
explore its beauty. THAI, as the major carrier in the country,
has assisted tourists to reach this destination with its daily
flights to as far away as Mae Hong Son, Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai
in the north to Phuket, Had Yai in the south of Thailand. THAI
constantly promotes Indonesia as one of its major destination in
Southeast Asia. Despite the political and economic situation in
Indonesia, the number of tourists using THAI to come to
Indonesia, especially Denpasar, is rising, based on its flight
statistics.

In honor of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej 73rd birthday
on Dec. 5, which is marked as Thailand National Day, THAI has
prepared a special in-flight menu for all classes. This special
menu will be served throughout December 2000. The special
ingredients for this special menu were taken from the Royal
Project, which is sponsored and handle personally by the His
Majesty. Every passenger who departs from Bangkok will be able to
enjoy a variety of the unique dishes served on board.

Recently, the Business Travelers Asia Pacific magazine, based
on its annual travelers survey, voted THAI as the best economy
class, best airline food, best cabin crew service and best
frequent-flyer program.

In order to position THAI closer to its Bahasa Indonesia
speaking customers, THAI has launched a local Bahasa website
(www.thaiairways.co.id), which was developed especially for its
local customers, besides its main English website
(www.thaiairways.com), the local website features information
about our products and services and also information on how to
reach THAI in Indonesia.
