Testing mineral water
Testing mineral water
From Neraca
Mineral water in plastic bottles bearing various trade marks (Aqua, Mountoya, Sosro, Bonanza, Oasis etc.) is now sold in the market.
I have tested some of them by using an electric conductor. My tests showed that the mineral waters did not conduct electric any current. This means that the water did not contain minerals. Or if it did at all, the mineral content was too little.
I think the Consumers Foundation Institution or the department of Health should look into the matter. This is important because, mineral deficient water could be detrimental to one's health. Some body organs might not function properly, which could result in various diseases like rheumatism, ringing ears, asthma, high blood pressure etc.
In this case, it is better to drink ground water, which is rich in minerals.
