Director of PT Terra Drone Indonesia, Michael Wisnu Wardhana, claimed that 20 victims of the Terra Drone building fire in Central Jakarta are willing to settle and agree to compensation exceeding Rp100 million.

Meanwhile, the total number of fatalities in the fire reached 22 people.

“Out of the 22, 20 have expressed their agreement to settle. For one, the resolution or statement process is ongoing, and for the last one, there is indeed a communication difficulty. But we do not want to be too aggressive, although we are making efforts, and we have not stopped them until now,” Michael said when examined as the defendant at the Central Jakarta District Court on Tuesday (5/5).

The judge asked about the amount of material compensation given to the victims. Michael said the value varies depending on the length of employment, position, and salary.

“What is the material compensation for each of those 20?” asked member judge Sunoto.

“Various, Your Honour,” Michael replied.

“Various meaning their positions or what?” the judge asked.

“Length of work, position, from their salary,” Michael replied.

Michael said the victims are receiving compensation above Rp100 million. He explained that there are still two victims who have not issued written settlement statements.

“For those 20, above how much?” the judge asked.

“The average is around Rp150 million, because some are in the Rp200 million range,” Michael replied.

“So it can be said all above 100?” the judge asked.

“Yes. Excluding BPJS and others,” Michael replied.

“From the company?” the judge asked.

“From the company,” Michael replied.

Michael said one victim is still in the process of making a settlement statement this week. Meanwhile, the other one is still hindered by distance and communication with the victim’s parents who are outside the area.

“Why is this? Because the family is not in the location or the place is far or what?” the judge asked.

“Yes, the information I have is that the job is indeed outside the area,” Michael replied.

“Family from what? Wife, child, husband, or parents?” the judge asked.

“Parents of the victim,” Michael replied.

Previously, Director of PT Terra Drone Indonesia, Michael Wisnu Wardhana, was charged with negligence in preventing, reducing, and extinguishing the fire that occurred at the PT Terra Drone office building in Central Jakarta. The fire resulted in the deaths of 22 PT Terra Drone employees.

The PT Terra Drone office building fire occurred on Tuesday (9/12/2025). Prosecutors said the building was used as a storage place for PT Terra Drone’s business goods, including 6s 30,000 mAh lithium polymer drone batteries, which had only one main door without any emergency stairs.

The PT Terra Drone office building consists of 7 floors, with each floor connected by access stairs and 1 lift unit, with the building dimensions approximately 16 metres long and 9 metres wide. The general construction of the building is a concrete flat roof with an iron frame rooftop, gypsum ceiling with iron frame, brick walls with iron frame, and ceramic floors.

Prosecutors said that when the fire occurred, the employees had difficulty extinguishing the initial sparks because there were no APAR fire extinguishers. The fire then grew larger and resulted in 22 PT Terra Drone employees becoming victims.

Prosecutors charged Michael Wisnu with violating Article 474 paragraph 3 or Article 188 of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code.
