Tennis and Padel Trends Gain Momentum as Industry Capitalises on Opportunities
Jakarta – Tennis and padel trends continue to grow in Indonesia over recent years. Increased public interest in racket sports has opened business opportunities in sports equipment, apparel, footwear, and community-based playing experiences.
This growth is evident from the rise in tennis and padel facilities, active community engagement, and new approaches in sports retail. Industry players are combining product sales with consultation services, playing experiences, and community activities to reach consumers.
Metro Tennis Terminal, a racket sports retailer, has capitalised on this growth by strengthening its position as Exclusive Tennis Retailer for On Indonesia through the Serve & Social event held at HQ Padel & Tennis in Pesanggrahan on 10 May.
The event introduced The Roger Pro 3 product through on-court experiences, with participants engaging in coaching sessions, performance testing, racket demos, and community gatherings.
Managing Director Dhananjay “Jay” Kuckreja said the sports retail trend is no longer solely focused on product sales. “This event reflects how we see the future of tennis retail—not just selling products, but providing a complete experience, from racket demos, stringing, consultations, to understanding the gear that best suits a player’s style,” he said, according to a press release dated Wednesday, 27 May 2026.
“Metro will continue to invest in top-notch racket demos, stringing services, and personalised retail experiences. We want players to come not just to buy, but to receive the right guidance,” added Jay.
Participants also had the chance to try new demo rackets such as Yonex MUSE, Yonex VCORE 2026, Babolat Pure Aero 2026, and other performance models. Metro highlighted the use of ReString strings as part of efforts to deliver optimal trial and racket setup experiences.
