He said that the two people had left Myanmar and were in Malaysia for the reason of staying temporarily in that country. “They have made a statement that they will not return to Indonesia for the time being and have chosen to stay in Malaysia,” he said. He said that today, two victims of human trafficking from Belitung were successfully repatriated from Myanmar and arrived at H. AS Hanandjoeddin Airport in good condition. “Earlier, two of them arrived in Belitung and we picked them up at the airport,” he said. He explained that the ten victims of human trafficking from Belitung were successfully repatriated in good condition and without any shortages, so they can now reunite with their beloved families at home. “Their condition is all good and healthy. So now they can be with their families,” he said. Erwan added that the success of their repatriation was inseparable from the cooperation of all parties, starting from the Social Service, Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (DSPPPA) of Belitung, the Belitung District Attorney’s Office, the Tanjungpandan Immigration Office, and all other related parties who have helped a lot. “Including the Indonesian Embassy in Myanmar, which has helped a lot in their repatriation,” he said. He said that currently, his party continues to provide assistance and training to the ten victims of human trafficking so that they will be ready to return to the world of work. In fact, one victim of human trafficking has been successfully placed in the workforce. “We continue to provide assistance and training to them so that they can be ready to return to the formal world of work,” he said.
