Ten killed in Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon
Beirut — The Emergency Operations Centre of Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported that at least ten people were killed and thirteen others wounded when Israel continued its attacks across several areas in southern Lebanon on Sunday, 15 March.
The operations centre also reported two people dead and four others injured in an Israeli airstrike on Majdal Selm in Marjayoun District.
In a separate strike, three people were killed and three others wounded in Aaitit, located in Tyre District.
Additionally, an Israeli airstrike on Qatrani in Jezzine District on Saturday, 14 March, in the evening local time, killed five people and wounded six others.
Earlier on Sunday, Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee warned residents in Beirut’s southern suburbs to evacuate certain locations. However, no Israeli strikes were reported in that area on that day.
Meanwhile, Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported on Sunday that the death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks in Lebanon has risen to 850 since 2 March.
In its daily report, the ministry’s Emergency Operations Centre stated that 2,105 people were injured during the same period.
The report also noted an increase in child casualties, with 107 children killed.
Hezbollah announced the launching of rockets from Lebanon towards Israel on 2 March for the first time since a ceasefire was announced on 27 November 2024. Israel subsequently launched a military campaign against the group, involving intensive airstrikes across several areas in southern and eastern Lebanon, as well as Beirut’s southern suburbs.
