Armed with its leading and most extensive network readiness as a manifestation of the commitment to Serving with All Our Heart, Telkomsel successfully maintained the quality of customer connectivity to remain safe, comfortable, and reliable without significant disruptions during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1447 H (RAFI 2026) period.

The rapid increase in public mobility, accompanied by a surge in digital activities across various regions, prompted Telkomsel to be on high alert from the start of Ramadan. This involved strengthening and optimising the network at priority points, conducting end-to-end AI-based service quality monitoring, and bolstering field team readiness to ensure customers could fully engage in worship, homecoming travels, and Eid moments.

General Manager of Region Network Operations and Productivity for West Java Telkomsel, Danny Agus Triawan, on Thursday (9/4), explained that based on Telkomsel Region Jabar’s records during the peak RAFI 2026 period, inter-regional customer movements reached 1.65 million customers. The largest destination flows were towards Jakarta (285,000), followed by Central Java-DIY Yogyakarta (115,000) and East Java (29,000).

“Alongside the rising needs for communication and digital entertainment, Telkomsel Region West Java recorded a peak data traffic payload of 5.82 petabytes, an increase of 36.15% compared to normal days. In terms of regions, the highest data traffic growth was recorded in Tasikmalaya: +30.94%, Ciamis: +25.73%, Pangandaran: +23.26%, and Kuningan: +21.78%,” he clarified.

Danny stated that ensuring customers remain connected during important moments of togetherness is at the core of the Serving with All Our Heart spirit. To anticipate the traffic surge during the RAFI 2026 period, Telkomsel reinforced 45 priority points covering homecoming routes, transportation hubs, tourist areas, residential zones, and other crowded spots.

“The determination of priority points was based on analytics and machine learning (ML) modelling, further strengthened by AI utilisation through Autonomous Network to maintain end-to-end service stability. During the RAFI 2026 period, nearly all network disruptions at priority points were resolved on time (94.4%), with service availability reaching 99.7%,” he elaborated.

STILL MAINTAINED

As a result, according to Danny, despite the traffic surges in homecoming destination cities like Tasikmalaya (+30.94%), Ciamis (+25.73%), Pangandaran (+23.26%), Kuningan (+21.78%), and Garut (+20.96%), Telkomsel’s service quality remained intact.

Similar conditions were observed at several popular tourist spots, including the Pangandaran Recreation Area and Santolo Beach, which recorded high payloads of over 22.42 terabytes and 17.47 terabytes, respectively. Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr are highly personal moments for many people, from worship to homecoming and maintaining closeness with family and friends.

Therefore, Telkomsel has strived to prepare the network as best as possible as part of the commitment to Serving with All Our Heart, so that customers can fully experience the Ramadan series up to Eid.

“We continue to monitor service performance and strengthen priority points, ensuring connections remain stable when needed, whether for socialising, travel, or daily digital activities.
