JAKARTA — PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk is accelerating its streamlining process, targeting a reduction of its corporate structure from 67 entities to 19 by end-2026. This move aims to strengthen Telkom’s position as a national digital strategic holding. The transformation was discussed in a meeting between BP BUMN Chief and Danantara COO Dony Oskaria and Telkom’s Director of Strategic Business Development & Portfolio Seno Soemadji at Wisma Danantara on Monday (25 May 2026). During the meeting, Telkom outlined several streamlining strategies, including mergers, divestments, liquidations, business consolidations, and the formation of new enterprise holdings. These steps are intended to strengthen digital business and national telecom infrastructure focus amid intensifying industry competition. Dony stated that Telkom’s transformation is crucial for reinforcing business focus and enhancing competitiveness as the digital industry evolves. ‘This transformation is vital to strengthen business focus and ensure the Telkom Group moves more agilely to meet the needs of the national digital ecosystem,’ he said in a statement on Wednesday (27 May 2026). Additionally, Telkom Group’s licensing structure is being reorganised to support the shift towards a more adaptive and globally competitive digital strategic holding. BP BUMN and Danantara will continue to push for stronger corporate governance, asset optimisation, and consolidation of the national digital ecosystem. Through this initiative, the government hopes the telecom sector BUMN will become healthier, more agile, and serve as a driver for Indonesia’s digital economy in the future.
