Telkom to install 126,000 lines
JAKARTA (JP): The state-owned telecommunications company, PT
Telkom, in cooperation with PT Lippo City Dev., will install
126,000 telephone lines in East Jakarta this year.
The cooperation agreement was signed on Wednesday by chief of
the East Jakarta telecommunications office, I Nyoman Purna and
Lippo president Herman Latief.
Nyoman said the installation of new phone lines is part of the
office's efforts to meet the sharply rising demands for
telecommunication services in the area.
He said the total cost of the project is estimated at Rp 900
million. "It will be fully completed in August." (bas)
