Telkom revenues up in S. Jakarta

JAKARTA (JP): The South Jakarta office of the state-owned
telecommunications company PT Telkom has announced an increase in
revenue to about Rp 254 billion (US$115.4 million) or 104 percent
of its target.

Chief of the office, Doddy Herdiaman S., said on Monday
evening that revenues increased by 55 percent in 1994, from Rp
163 billion in 1993.

Doddy said that the office installed 51,734 telephone lines in
1994, as compared to only 16,097 lines in 1993.

He said that the number of public coin telephones installed
increased from 3,708 lines in 1993 to 4,357 lines in 1994, while
installation of public card telephones rose from 503 lines in
1993 to 1,162 lines in 1994.

According to Doddy, the office expects its revenues to
continue increasing, to Rp 322.01 billion this year. (mas)
