Telkom extends payment deadline

JAKARTA (JP): People in Greater Jakarta can pay their most recent monthly telephone bills by Tuesday without penalty because PT Telkom has delayed its payment deadline by two days.

The payment deadline usually falls on the 20th of each month.

Telkom's deputy manager for Jakarta, Jimmy R. Villanueva, said Thursday that the deadline was extended because of yesterday's public holiday, the Day of Sacrifice (Idul Adha).

Telkom does not open on Saturday or Sunday.

Subscribers in Serang, Bogor and Purwakarta in West Java also have two more days to pay.

Villanueva said Telkom would fine those who miss the Tuesday deadline. (icn)
