Jakarta – PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk continues to strengthen its commitment to promoting women’s empowerment through mentorship programmes and UMKM development initiatives in various regions.

Through an integrated development ecosystem, including the Telkom BUMN House, the company seeks to enhance the capacity of business operators, particularly women, to develop, adapt to digital progress, and expand market access both nationally and internationally. This effort is increasingly relevant given that UMKMs form the backbone of the national economy, with significant contributions to employment and economic growth.

The high participation of women as business operators in this sector makes strengthening capacity and market access for women an important factor in driving a more inclusive economy.

“As a leading digital telecommunications company, Telkom not only focuses on strengthening connectivity and technological transformation, but is also committed to optimising innovation to create tangible social and environmental impact. Through this mentorship, we hope that every solution produced by women UMKM entrepreneurs can have a strong sustainability model. The actions of these resilient women offer hope in maintaining natural balance whilst strengthening local economies for a better future,” said Hery Susanto, Senior General Manager for Social Responsibility at Telkom.

One example of a woman-led UMKM entrepreneur supported by Telkom is Dini Windu Asih, owner of the culinary business Mbrebes Milli, who joined as a Telkom-supported UMKM in January 2025. This community emerged from a longing for the warmth of a mother’s cooking. The name Mbrebes Milli, which in Javanese describes tears flowing whilst cutting red onions, has now transformed into a symbol of struggle and self-reliance for a group of women at the neighbourhood level.

As community leader, Dini actively invites members to join the Telkom BUMN House ecosystem. Through structured mentorship programmes, women business operators receive comprehensive business curriculum training ranging from Go Modern, Go Digital, Go Online, to Go Global.

This mentorship not only enhances business capacity but also builds confidence among women UMKM operators to expand markets through digital channel utilisation. The spirit of women’s independence is also reflected through the Tano Puan initiative, a business owned by Siska Elvi Yunita that was selected as one of the best programmes in the Bumi Berseru Fest 2025, an environmental action competition initiated by Telkom.
