Tegal Regent Attends New Apindo Central Java Board Inauguration to Support Investment Strengthening
Tegal Regent Ischak Maulana Rohman attended the inauguration of the Central Java Provincial Board of the Indonesian Employers’ Association (Apindo) for the 2026–2031 tenure at the Patra Semarang Hotel Ballroom on Wednesday. Regent Ischak’s presence reflected the Tegal Regency Government’s commitment to supporting a strengthened business ecosystem and a conducive investment climate in Central Java. The ceremony marking the start of the new Apindo Central Java leadership under Helmy Tas’an Wartono was attended by Central Java Deputy Governor Taj Yasin, Apindo National Board Chairwoman Shinta Widjaja Kamdani, members of the Central Java Regional Leadership Coordination Forum, regional heads, academics, and labour unions from across Central Java. Deputy Governor Taj Yasin stressed the importance of uniting domestic economic power to reduce dependence on external factors amidst escalating global geopolitical conditions. ‘The interest of entrepreneurs to invest in Central Java is very strong. Coupled with the newly inaugurated Apindo, this shows that the unity between entrepreneurs and their labour unions is truly solid, so they will further strengthen Central Java’s economy,’ he stated. He also expressed hope that the new board will continue to maintain regional conduciveness and build close relationships between employers and employees. Newly elected Apindo Central Java Chairman Helmy Tas’an Wartono stated the inauguration resulted from the 13th Provincial Conference held on 15 April 2026. Together with regency and city-level boards, he is committed to strengthening the business ecosystem and creating harmonious industrial relations. ‘Central Java has tremendous appeal, from superior human resources to integrated infrastructure, making it a strategic investment magnet over the past ten years. Together with labour union partners and the government, Apindo is determined to be a strategic partner in maintaining a growing business climate while expanding job opportunities,’ Helmy emphasised. Apindo National Chairwoman Shinta Widjaja Kamdani noted Central Java was the fourth-largest contributor to the national Gross Regional Domestic Product in 2025, with realised investment reaching Rp88.5 trillion and absorbing over 400,000 workers. However, she highlighted the major challenge of high informal worker numbers that must be transitioned into the formal sector. She entrusted several key messages to the new board, including encouraging decent job creation, overseeing employment regulations, developing local economic potential, and strengthening coordination with regional governments. The event continued with a panel discussion themed ‘Resilience and Adaptation of Business Actors in Central Java in Facing the Dynamics of Global Economic Change and Geopolitical Pressures’, featuring the Director General of National Export Development from the Ministry of Trade as a speaker to formulate strategic solutions for future business growth.
