Tegal City Government Raids Aceh Shops Selling Hard Drugs, Seven Dismantled
The Tegal City Government (Pemkot) in Central Java raided several shops known as “Warung Aceh” in Tegal City. The raid uncovered several shops suspected of operating under the guise of selling daily necessities but allegedly selling hard drugs without a doctor’s prescription. Two of them had closed before the raid took place, while the other seven were still active and were immediately addressed.
The raid, which occurred on Thursday afternoon (26/3/2026), was led directly by Tegal Mayor Dedy Yon Supriyono and involved a joint team from the Tegal City BNN, Satpol PP, Transportation Department, Health Department, and police apparatus.
“We conducted a direct inspection together with the police and BNN. From the seven shops, we dismantled all of them to ensure no more such disguised practices occur,” said Dedy Yon.
Dedy Yon explained that these shops used covert sales methods with specific codes, so not everyone could purchase from them. He mentioned the use of passwords such as “white”, “yellow”, “Y”, and “TM” in transactions.
“We found indications of the sale of several hard drugs like Tramadol, Hexymer 2, and other types that should only be obtained with a doctor’s prescription,” stated Dedy Yon.
Dedy Yon emphasised that such practices are highly dangerous, especially because they target young people.
“The targets are teenagers, students, even junior high, high school, and university students. This severely endangers the nation’s generation,” he asserted.
In addition to the dismantling, the shop owners were temporarily given counselling. The government will also report the findings to relevant institutions for further action.
Dedy Yon also stressed that Pemkot Tegal will not tolerate illegal businesses, including those selling prohibited drugs. “Tegal City must not have shops like this. We must work together, we must clean everything,” he said firmly.
Dedy Yon also urged other regions to take similar steps to prevent the circulation of illegal drugs from shifting to other areas. He highlighted suspicions of parties backing such practices and called for it to be stopped.
“No one should back illegal businesses like this. We want Tegal City to be truly clean,” Dedy Yon concluded.
