Tedjowulan Responds to Claims of Receiving Salary from Surakarta Palace Grant: What is the Problem?
The spokesperson for KGPHPA Tedjowulan, Kangjeng Pakoenegoro, responded to the SISKS Pakubuwana XIV Purbaya faction, which accused him of receiving money from the Surakarta Palace grant fund.
Pakoenegoro, also known as Candra Malik, did not deny that Tedjowulan received funds from the grant. According to him, the grant should not be a problem if it is distributed to the right recipients.
“What is the problem?” said Candra Malik in a written statement on Thursday (February 26).
In his statement, the spokesperson for PB XIV Purbaya, KPA Singonagoro, stated that Tedjowulan received a salary from the Surakarta Palace grant fund. Singonagoro also claimed to have receipts and photos of the handover of Tedjowulan’s salary.
In response, Candra Malik considered this to be reasonable.
“It would be unusual if there was no proof of the handover,” said Candra Malik.
“Furthermore, should the use of the salary money be reported and accounted for?” he added.
Candra Malik further stated that the financial audit of the Surakarta Palace is intended to examine the use of grant funds from the government. He asked all parties to proactively report any misuse of the grant funds.
“So, the spirit is not to blame a specific party,” he said.
KPA Singonagoro previously explained that most of the grant funds from the government for the Surakarta Palace are used to pay the salaries of the king and officials at the palace. At that time, KGPHPA Tedjowulan served as Paran Parakarsa or advisory council.
“So, if Gusti Tedjo (Tedjowulan) requested an audit for the 2018-2025 period, Gusti Tedjo is also one of the recipients of the grant funds,” said Singonagoro when met at the Surakarta Palace on Wednesday (February 25).
The statement was made by Singonagoro in response to Tedjowulan’s letter to the Indonesian State Audit Board (BPK) to audit the grant funds for the Surakarta Palace for the 2018-2025 period.
