Teddy Reveals the Outcomes of Prabowo's Meeting with the King of Jordan
President Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan at the Basman Palace in Amman on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026. Secretary of the Cabinet, Teddy Indra Wijaya, stated that the meeting discussed several strategic regional issues, particularly efforts towards peace in the Gaza Strip and strengthening coordination among Middle Eastern countries.
Teddy, who attended the meeting between Prabowo and King Abdullah II, said that the two leaders discussed the follow-up to the inaugural meeting of the Peace Council, which took place last week in the United States. “This follows up on the first meeting of the Board of Peace (BoP) with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and other West Bank countries that are members of the BoP,” said Teddy in a written statement.
According to Teddy, Prabowo and King Abdullah II discussed the role of each country in addressing the situation in the Gaza Strip. Teddy stated that Jordan has a strategic position in supporting humanitarian access in the Palestinian territory and regional diplomacy in the Middle East.
Good relations with Jordan, according to Teddy, will help Indonesia in the peace process in the Gaza Strip. “Jordan is one of the entry points (to the Palestinian territory) by land, sea, and air,” he said.
In addition, Teddy said that the two leaders also discussed a long-term solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. According to Secretary of the Cabinet Teddy, the discussion reaffirmed that Indonesia and Jordan have aligned views in promoting a fair and sustainable solution for Palestine. “Discussion regarding the two-state solution,” he said.
After the meeting, King Abdullah II escorted Prabowo to the Marka Military Airport in Amman. From Jordan, Prabowo continued his overseas trip to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
King Abdullah II drove Prabowo from the Basman Palace to the airport in a black Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. The same type of vehicle is often used by Prabowo during his overseas visits.
As broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat’s social media, King Abdullah was seen sitting in the driver’s seat of the ultra-luxury sedan during the trip from the Basman Palace. Meanwhile, Prabowo sat in the passenger seat next to the Sultan.
According to the Google Maps digital map application, the Basman Palace is approximately 5.1 kilometers or a seven-minute drive from the Marka Airport complex. Upon arrival at the airport, King Abdullah II personally saw off President Prabowo on the aircraft stairs. The two leaders appeared to hug each other before parting.
A number of members of the Jordanian Royal Family also saw off Prabowo’s departure. Among them were the Crown Prince of Jordan, Prince Al Hussein ibn Abdullah II, and a number of other Jordanian Royal officials. Also present were the Indonesian Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ade Padmo Sarwono, and the Indonesian Defense Attaché to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Colonel Dafris D. Syahruddin.
Four F-16 fighter jets from the Jordanian Air Force escorted President Prabowo’s presidential aircraft after it took off from Marka Airport. The escort aircraft accompanied President Prabowo until he left Jordanian airspace.
