Teddy reveals details of bilateral meeting between President Prabowo and King of Jordan
Amman (ANTARA) - Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya revealed that the bilateral meeting between Indonesia and Jordan, led by President Prabowo Subianto and King Abdullah II of Jordan, discussed issues related to Palestine. The meeting took place at the Basman Palace in Amman on Wednesday.
The bilateral meeting at the Basman Palace, which was the main agenda of President Prabowo’s visit to Amman, was attended by several officials, including Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. From the Jordanian side, Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah al-Hashimi and Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi were present.
“(The meeting) followed up on the first meeting of the Board of Peace (BoP) with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and other member countries of the BoP,” said Teddy in Amman, Jordan, on Wednesday, after the meeting.
During the same meeting, the Cabinet Secretary explained that President Prabowo and King Abdullah II also discussed strengthening the role of Indonesia and Jordan in addressing the situation in Gaza.
“Strengthen cooperation between Indonesia and Jordan to address peace in Gaza. Jordan is one of the entry points (to Gaza) by land, sea and air,” Teddy added.
In addition, the two leaders also discussed a long-term solution to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
According to the Cabinet Secretary, the discussion reaffirmed that Indonesia and Jordan share the same view in promoting a just and sustainable solution for the Palestinian people.
“The discussion was about the two-state solution,” said Teddy.
After the bilateral meeting, as a conclusion to the series of meetings, he explained that King Abdullah II personally escorted President Prabowo to the airport, even driving the vehicle to the airport.
“This moment became a strong symbol of the close personal and diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Jordan in the midst of a shared commitment to promote regional peace,” said Teddy.
