Teach our children well

On May 16, junior high school students in Karangasem, Bali, had to take their 120-minute English language test.

The last test page showed the following questions: Indonesia is a large archipelago (Correct). It lies between Asia and Australia continents, between Indonesia (How can it lie between itself?) and Pacific Ocean.

It extends between 60 degree of north latitude (that would mean somewhere around Oslo, Norway, Leningrad, Russia, Alaska, Canada or the southern tip of Greenland) and 110 degree of south latitude (latitude is measured from 0 degree to 90 degree south or north; 0 degree is the Equator, 90 degree are the poles -- there is no 110 degree latitude on this globe!) and between 95 percent (should it mean degree?) west longitude (Indonesia does not lie at all on the Western longitude!) and 141 percent east longitude.

This is a completely unacceptable way to test students and shows a great deal of ignorance. In which lottery did the person responsible for this test win his diploma?
