Tax revenue grows 30.4 percent, February state budget records deficit of Rp135.7 trillion
Tax collections in the first two months of 2026 grew by 30 percent, in January and February alike, indicating stability there. Jakarta (ANTARA) - The State Budget (APBN) recorded a deficit of Rp135.7 trillion, or 0.53 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) as of 28 February 2026, even as tax receipts grew by 30.4 percent.
“Tax collections in the first two months of 2026 grew by 30 percent, in January and February alike, indicating stability there. And we are confident that this will remain stable going forward,” said Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa during a media briefing at the Ministry of Finance in Jakarta on Friday.
In detail, state revenue amounted to Rp358 trillion or 11.4 percent of the APBN target of Rp3,153.6 trillion, up 12.8 percent.
Tax revenue stood at Rp290 trillion or 10.8 percent of target, up 20.5 percent.
This included tax collections of Rp245.1 trillion (10.4 percent of target, up 30.4 percent) and customs and excise of Rp44.9 trillion (13.4 percent of target, revised down 14.7 percent).
Meanwhile non-tax state revenue (PNBP) collected was Rp68 trillion or 14.8 percent of target, down 11.4 percent.
On the expenditure side, realised spending reached Rp493.8 trillion or 12.8 percent of the Rp3,842.7 trillion target, up 41.9 percent.
Central government expenditure disbursed amounted to Rp345.1 trillion or 11 percent of target, up 63.7 percent.
Expenditure channelled through ministries/agencies (K/L) stood at Rp155 trillion (10.3 percent of target, up 85.5 percent), while non-K/L expenditure was Rp191 trillion (11.7 percent of target, up 49.4 percent).
Transfers to regional governments (TKD) realised at Rp147.7 trillion or 21.3 percent of target, up 8.1 percent.
With this performance, the primary balance recorded a deficit of Rp35.9 trillion. The primary balance reflects the government’s ability to manage its debt.
Meanwhile, financing realised amounted to Rp164.2 trillion or 23.8 percent of the APBN target of Rp689.1 trillion.
