Taste of Brisbane at dance festival
SEMARANG, Central Java: The Central Javanese capital will host a festival of traditional Indonesian and Australian dances this month to mark the beginning of the "sister-city" relationship between Semarang and Brisbane, the capital of the Australian state of Queensland.
Minister of Social Services Inten Suweno, Tiara Foundation Chairwoman Siti Hardiyanti Rukmana and Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Allan Taylor are among the VIPs expected to attend the festival's opening ceremony on Oct. 24.
Some of the dances will be performed by handicapped children from the Foundation for the Disabled Children, city public relations official Harini K. Trisnadi said yesterday. (05)
